STANMART FILM SERVICES
Company Profile
Mastering The Craft
Stanmart was formed in 1981 as a partnership between Stan and Martin O'Neill to supply low cost production equipment to a film industry booming under the 10BA tax incentive. With Stan's background as construction manager at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, a workshop was an inevitable extension and Stanmart rapidly expanded to fill the 10000 square feet it occupies today.

In 1986, Stan retired and Martin came into the office fulltime, adding a prop store and a specialist expendable shop to the existing equipment hire. During this period there was an increase in the amount of inhouse setbuilding, propmaking and signmaking.

Quality Results .. Within Budget .. On Time

Stanmart's well-known prop store supplied the local film and TV commercial industry with all manner of props over many years.

Through the 90s, Stanmart focussed its energies on the ever-growing television advertising industry - emerging as a regional leader in the provision of set construction and art department services.

The workshop's prime Sydney location ensures that Stanmart stays at the forefront of industry developments in both domestic and overseas markets. Assignments in England, North Africa, Malaysia, New Zealand, across Australia and the Pacific have earned the company a reputation for delivering quality results, on time.

In 1998 Stanmart decided to concentrate on construction services, equipment rental and retail sales. To gain extra space the prop store was sold (... we kept the best bits).

We Can Make Anything

Although specialising in television commercials, the company's we can make anything attitude has spread the client base from set design and construction into special events e.g. SOCOG, exhibition display, specialized signmaking, and even shop fitting. Stanmart has also developed industry-specific products such as gas-powered steamers for special effects. As such, Stanmart does not exclude any medium and has extensive resources and suppliers that understand the deadlines and vagaries of entertainment-related production.
